Why Whatsapp is not Working Today in India: WhatsApp is down since 12.30 pm today as users are finding they are not able to send messages to group chats and only one tick is showing for messages sent to individuals. The messages sent to Group chats are not being delivered, instead displaying a ‘waiting’ symbol. Many WhatsApp users are reporting facing issues with their chats globally. Not only smartphone users but even WhatsApp web and WhatsApp desktop app users are affected. It’s not clear how long it will take for WhatsApp to return to normalcy. Many users have claimed that they switched on and off the Airplane Mode on their smartphones in an attempt to resolve the issue.

WhatsApp is working again after almost two hour-long outage that affected users across the world on Tuesday . As per the Downdetector website, which tracks internet outage, users started reporting issues starting at 12.07 pm and they peaked around 12.51 pm.

  • WhatsApp is the most popular messaging app in the world, with over one billion users.
  • The outage primarily affected Europe, South America and Africa, according to Downdetector.
  • The Facebook-owned app went down for about two hours on Friday, 25th October 2022.

What WhatsApp said: WhatsApp has said that the issue causing disruptions in service has been fixed. The company has not yet disclosed what caused the problem, but acknowledged it earlier today. “We’re aware that some people are currently having trouble sending messages and we’re working to restore WhatsApp for everyone as quickly as possible,” a Meta spokesperson said.

The longest WhatsApp outage in recent history happened on October 5, 2021 and lasted for approximately six hours. This was a major inconvenience for the billions of users who rely on Facebook and its family of apps – WhatsApp and Instagram – for social media communication.
