Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Rozgar Mela: On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Rozgar Mela, a recruitment drive for 10 lakh personnel. The Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement that 75,000 newly inducted appointees were given appointment letters during the ceremony.

The Rozgar Mela is a nationwide event where fifty Union ministers will be handing out appointment letters to nearly 20,000 people at different locations. Ashwini Vaishnaw, the railways minister, will be in Jaipur to hand out letters, while civil aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia will be in Bhopal and information and broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur will be in Chandigarh, according to PTI.

The individuals who have been appointed will join the government at various levels, including Group – A, Group – B (Gazetted), Group – B (Non-Gazetted) and Group – C. The posts that they will be taking include Central Armed Force Personnel, Sub Inspector, Constable, LDC, Steno, PA, Income Tax Inspectors, MTS, and more.

These recruitments are being done in a missioned based manner by Ministries and Departments either by themselves or with the help of recruiting agencies such as UPSC, SSC, and Railway Recruitment Board. As per government labour figures, there were 8 lakh unemployed youth as of March this year. Many of them were college graduates with degrees in both technical and non-technical fields.

More than 1.25 crore young people have been trained under Skill India Abhiyan, Prime Minister Modi announced today. He said that Kaushal Vikas Kendras have been set up all over the country and hundreds of higher education institutes have been opened as part of the initiative. The Prime Minister also said that initiatives like liberalising the drone policy, opening up the space policy, and providing 20 lakh crore rupees worth of loans under Mudra Yojana have taken the process further. “Never before has a self-employment program of this magnitude been implemented in the country”, he said.
